I think there might be health gain actually, you auto heal when left alone, that's what the receeding red on the edges of the screen is.
Medics can see your hp bars under your names also.

Except that in hardcore mode, you don't regenerate. I think you regenerate on all non-hardcore servers, but I'm not 100% sure, it seemed to me like I didn't once or twice even there.

In other news, teething problems show up again, can't connect to EA Online yet again. And, my game started crashing
Edit: Corrupted file, doh. And all I wanted was some quiet Sunday time fragging hapless enemies

Punkbuster is really giving me grief now, keeps kicking me from game, i have manually updated it, and tryed everything the various forums suggest, still no joy though. Had all this shit with cod4 too

I get full system lock ups, needing a hard reset, roughly every 2-3 hours play.

Apart from that not had any crashes or major punkbuster issues.

Yeah, I've had problems with pretty much every game that used PunkBuster as well - luckily, so far not with BFBC2. No clue why the publishers keep using this instead of trying to come up with something more reasonable. I guess ease of implementation and return of investment for them are reasonable, but still...

The Steam servers appear to be pretty loaded ATM as well. My connection is fast-ish as usual (just tested and had 5 MBit/s), but the download only crawls with 60-70 KB/s.

My attempts to play this game are slowly rotting my brain. Got the gfx issue fixed (thanks Dawg) - now having fun and games trying to log in. I'm sick of typing in the same fucking CD key all the fucking time only to be told 'error in trying to connect' owtte. I've already typed in one CD key - IT'S MY FUCKING GAME OK!!! Cunts!!

How the fuck have any of you managed to log into MP? Every fucking time I try it either bounces back the CD key or tells me there's been an error trying to connect. Fucking dog wank - EA has a history of shitty MP server browser/registration (as evidenced by every single previous BF game) but this takes the fucking biscuit.

Pulling my fucking hair out here also, it is totally random as to why I cant log in it seems, 1 minute it asks for the cd key, I get in game only to be kicked by fucking Punkbuster. Great game but really shitty implemented by EA, people are fuming everywhere, on all forums, and quite rightly so, like someone else posted, I bet the console owners dont get any of this shite

The punkbuster issue is a game server side thing, needs the servers restarting to fix it.

My strategy for getting in game. Firstly, try the join button next to everyone (both on and offline) in my friends list, just in case one of them is in game.
Then check my server history and try connecting to some of the servers there, even if they appear full.
Then use the main server browser, let it do the big refresh without touching anything, sort by ping and try to connect to everything of my preferred game type, in order, even if full. Eventually i'll hit on one that lets me in.
If i get bored doing the above, i'll just use the matchmaking lucky dip (multiplayer -> play now) This always finds a working server for me.

Can't even do that mate, as I can't retrieve/create an account as the Master Server is down (apparently) so I just get connection errors.


@Andy, as far as I can tell, the 2nd key is the one that you need for logging in/creating an account

Unlocks extra maps, it's day one DLC ... if you sell the game on the new owner will have to buy those maps again as DLC. It's EA's way of squeezing more money out of the preowned market.

Since playing BFBC2 is about so much more than actually playing the game - just curious what other folks may be finding fun things to do with it...


1. Exploring every ounce of the awesome BFBC2 Menus - without actually going anywhere..

2. Watch the BFBC2 Updater animation over and over with unbridled optimism that there might be a patch released that may actually let you play the game...

3. Check for PB updates for the 112th time..

4. Watch the EA splash/intro movies for the 110th time..

5. Go to Gametracker to see how many servers are out there that you currently cannot play on....

Do I have to do anything to unlock them, or will it know? I dont seem to be about to activate it anwhere.
